Configure Creo Parametric so that Commands applied to the Quick Access Toolbar are applied across all modules

Configure Creo Parametric so that Commands applied to the Quick Access Toolbar are applied across all modules

Currently (as of Creo Parametric 2.0) when adding a Command to the Quick Access Toolbar the Command is only available in the module where the Command was added.

For example, when in the Part Design module customize the Quick Access Toolbar and add the 'Activate' command.  Switch to the Assembly Design module and notice how the 'Activate' command is not listed in the Quick Access Toolbar.  The user must then customize the Quick Access Toolbar again to add the new same 'Activate' command.

It would nice if functionality could be introduced where users can define if the Command is to be made available Globally across all Quick Access Toolbars, versus select modules.

Please consider editing the idea to include all versions of Creo Parametric.

Also, it would be better if the customization UI could let us select which commands to include in all modes (global) and which to only include in a partiular mode (local).

Hi Alwyn,

Thank you for taking the time to comment.  You made great points and I've updated the Product Idea.

Cheers,

Alex

This one is similar to the following (vote for them also):

Share quick access toolbar across all environments

and

add in quick access toolbar, Creo2.0

Thank you Stephen, I've voted on the other two Product Ideas as well.   Hopefully PTC sees this as a valid enhancement to add.

I agree with this. It's frustrating that everytime you change what you are doing, you have to reconfigure the QA toolbar. I even noticed this when you activate a part in an assembly.

I use the quick access bar enough to have developed a "muscle memory" of their location. The problem is that their locations may be different in different modules. I end up hitting the wrong icon sometimes when I hurry.

In recent releases of Creo, commands added to the the Quick Access Toolbar are propagated to all modules in Creo.  In fact, propagation is on by default.  You can choose to remove propagation if desired though the Customize: Quick Access Toolbar section in the Creo Parametric Options dialog.  Right mouse on the top-level item and un-check propagation.

Those commands added to the the toolbar will be accessible if they are relevant in the given module you are working in.
