1. I am a Creo administrator. We are currently resurrecting some old (1996) product designs. The engineering community wants to know how to replace holes created using extrude and holes created using the old legacy "slot" function with standard holes and NOT break placement constraints in upper level assemblies. Using standard holes is highly desirable due to current callout standards and to ensure the correct geometry size is used.
Example: Legacy Extrudes
Example: Legacy "slots"
2. We are running Creo Parametric 7.0.3.0
3. Reference PTC case: C16226666 confirmed that there is no conversion/replacement technique in Creo. Recreating the features as holes breaks placement constraints in upper level assemblies.
4. The process of resurrecting these products would increase time to clean up the models and their reporting assemblies and delays in design modification and release.
5. If there was a conversion or replacement method that would also retain placement constraints at upper level assemblies, it would significantly reduce time and cost to the company. (TIME and COST).
