Create 3D dimension between 2 points in a specified direction

Create 3D dimension between 2 points in a specified direction

If I have a drafted rib, I need to be able to specify the dimension at either the top or the bottom of the rib, but the current 3D annotation does not allow me to specify the direction for the measurement.

Can you please provide some more information of exactly what you'd like to achieve, ideally with some kind of a picture?

I'm not following what is being requested here.

If you're attempting to create a point-to-point dimension, you should be able to get any direction desired through a combination of choosing an appropriate annotation plane and the dimension orientation (horizontal, vertical, slanted, parallel, normal) from the Dim Orient menu:

Hello Raphael,

I believe this request is for Creo Elements Direct Modeling and not Creo (Parametric).

You're right... Sorry about the confusion.

Hello Pete,

I was able to orientate the 3D Dimension onto a Docu-plane, not sure if this is what you were looking to do.

Thom,

Yes, that is an example of what I want to be able to do. And yes, you can do that-but only with the 3D Documentation module activated. Maybe that is the solution, but I'd like to be able to do that with just the basic 3D dimensioning and not have to go into the 3D documentation module.
