Create a Report for CREO View ECAD Compare

Create a Report for CREO View ECAD Compare

The CREO View ECAD Compare utility is really strong when viewing what's changed in a design.  It would be even more powerful to communicate to 3rd parties what's changed between a known version and the latest.  The problem is that there is not a good way to generate a human-readable file that really tells you what's changed.  Ideally, you would need to take all the changes from a ECAD Compare session, show the graphical A vs. B from CREO View and a quick explanation.  We are currently doing this manually by viewing all the changes and take screenshots to build a document that can be shared.  It would be great to press a button like "Create Comparison Report as PDF".  Then, you can share the PDF with all the changes found through CREO Compare with whoever you want or need to.

Pat,

As discussed in email the Creo View 3.1 Compare will have a report capability allowing a .csv file to be generated with the compare results.   As far as the PDF idea I would like to think that Creo View Markups and annotation sets would be easy enough to use to convey the changes you are trying to share.

Thanks,

Mark

We currently do the same thing. It is a very manual and time conosuming process. Rather than Creo View though it would be better to have this functionality in Creo Parametric because it could account for things such as slight view movements. Creo Parametric has all of the line IDs so it would be easier to check if any of the line IDs were deleted or added between the two versions.
