Create a config option for switch drawing format with same name but later iteration automatic

Create a config option for switch drawing format with same name but later iteration automatic

I would like to have a config option that let me decide if drawing formats with same name should be updated to latest iteration automatic, when drawing is opened in Creo.

Today one need to switch manually.

If a bigger change has happened and I do not want the drawing format to be automatic switched I can then just create a new name for the drawing formats to be used for new drawings. But sometimes when the modification is little I may want the drawing formats to get updated.

The way Creo is currently architected this is simply not possible.  The drawing will display whatever version of the format is currently available (either in the working directory or the workspace if using Windchill).  What you're asking for is the same as saying, "When opening an assembly, Creo should not open the newest version of the parts in the assembly unless manually told to do so."  It simply doesn't work that way.

The only way to accomplish what you're looking for is to have the drawing actually embed the format into it (like SolidWorks).  With this approach, the format would never update unless manually reapplied.  Now this behavior I would be all for!  Under the current implementation you pretty much have to NEVER change a format after it's been in use (or you are impacting ALL the drawings they currently referencing it.)
