While creating a mirror of a part for our MBD project following issues were observed:
Issues:
1.If I am mirroring a part, with dependency and without features, which have annotations then the mirrored part will not have all the annotations which the reference part have. Also the mirror part will not have the start part which is used for the reference parent part. So overall MBD information which parent part have will not get reflected in the mirrored part.
2.If I am mirroring a part with features then all MBD information get reflected to the mirrored part. In this case I can also generate annotation required for MBD. But the major issue I observed the dependency breaks while mirroring the part with features. This will become difficult and time consuming to make changes in both parts accordingly.
3.For both the above cases if I am mirroring a part then only FRONT PLANE is the symmetry reference plane. So if any user want to mirror a part with reference of other plane then it would not be possible to select other reference planes.
Required solutions:
1. For 1st issue there should be option of having all MBD information migrated in the Mirrored part.
2. For 2nd Issue, the option of dependency will be highlighted if user wants the dependency between the parts while mirroring the part with feature.
3. For 3rd issue, there must be option of selection of plane of symmetry reference for mirroring the part.
