Creo NC as an independent APP.

In the recent past, we have been observing that Delcam (Powermill) is doing good business in the absence of an PTCs Independent CAM solution.

End users are convinced on Creo NC packaged with Essentials, but due to the package dependability they opt for Powermill.

Generally, as you are aware that sitting locations of Tool Designer is separate from Tool Path Programmer and hence demands for two separate independent solutions.

Also, since Delcam packages powershape with powermill in a very attractive costs, customers buy Delcam Powermill with Powershape which also affects Creo Deals.

Moreover the Powermill and Powershape works independently and in parallel on two different computers which is very attractive for customers.

When Creo was launched, we had a hope of Creo NC shall be an independent App similar to Creo Simulate.

I hope in near future, Creo NC shall be an Independent App with very basic feature of FMX/Direct Modelling.

The functionality offered by using an integrated NC package with the CAD software is fantastic when changes are made. There is no incentive for PTC to market their NC programming code, most of which is licensed from third-parties anyway, as a standalone product. If you need a standalone NC programming solution, there are many on the market that have more functionality than Pro/NC. Most of the PTC bundles come with Pro/NC and its related programs, so the cost of the package is 'included'.
