Creo Notebook - Declare only a few parameters, not all parameters

Creo Notebook - Declare only a few parameters, not all parameters

Logged as PTC Case: C14731712

I have a Notebook with 1200+ parameters. I create a new part (or assembly), and I declare the notebook to that part. Currently, when I declare, all 1200+ parameters are now accessible in that part. I only want to declare a few parameters. This is not possible.

Another way is to declare a notebook to another notebook, but I would like to create one "master notebook" with all parameters, and then create "sub notebooks" which will only "import" a few parameters from that "master notebook". Sadly, this is also not possible.

So I would like to propose an idea where the user can select which parameters he would like to declare into a part (or assembly).

Some additional information:

Our current workflow uses EXECUTE statements. We define INPUT parameters at part/assembly level and use EXECUTE statements to drive the components. If we need an additional parameter, we need to edit all the levels and include that new parameter in our INPUT parameters and our EXECUTE statements.

With a Notebook, we can get rid of all those INPUT parameters and EXECUTE statements. Adding a parameter to a Notebook will make it available instantly in the parts/assemblies where that Notebook has been declared.

But I want more control over these Notebooks. And I don't know if there are any performance issues when I have Notebook with 1200+ parameters declared to all my components...

This would also provide a way to not transfer PDM or other company-specific designated parameters that exist in every model and shouldn't be propagated from the notebook (DESCRIPTION, MATERIAL, DESIGNER, etc.)
