Creo Save a Copy of Assembly - Multiple Enhancements

Creo Save a Copy of Assembly - Multiple Enhancements

Please update the Creo Save a Copy of Assembly command:

  • Support for options related to objects declared for a Notebook (.lay)
  • Clarify how Copy Drawings works by adding "with same same"
  • The Save a Copy highlight selection is difficult to see and is not visible if object is hidden behind other parts. Please use the normal Creo selection highlight used elsewhere in Creo.
  • Add "Configuration Queries" from the Model Tree Search to Save a Copy search. Add a "Declared to Notebook" to both searches.

This will make it easier to Save a Copy of flexible assemblies that use ProProgram and/or Notebooks (.lay). Screenshots from Creo 4 M090.

Another gap... If you are copying a sheetmetal part with a _FLAT instance. The _FLAT instance is not copied and the new drawing will be linked to the old _FLAT instance. The new simp reps flat pattern in Creo 5 would probably solve this but we have a lot of _FLAT instances.

Also, if you have the same object in your assembly multiple times, the Assembly Save a Copy menu will show the object multiple times but Creo forces all of these repeated rows to be exactly the same. This menu could be simplified and only show repeated components once. This would be nice for things like hardware where you have 20 of the same screw in the assembly.
