Creo multibody: place the specific body in drafting

Creo multibody: place the specific body in drafting

Hello everyone,
If you like below thing that should be available in Creo Part modelling multibody

THERE SHOULD BE A WAY TO SELECT THE SPECIFIC BODY FOR PLACING THE VIEW IN DRAWING

Your reply is very valuable for me

Solidworks at least, I know that has this funcionality. It would avoid having to hide all bodies if we want to bring to the drawing a single body, or having to create a simplified rep in part mode (which interface is very outdated, bringing still the menu manager), and avoid the bounding box problem when projecting the views. It could/should also allow to multi-select the needed bodies, in case we want the drawing to be made with more than one body extracted from a part with possible with dozens of bodies.

One major use case for us would be welding assemblies. We have a large amount of welding assemblies and while our current custom method works, it has a few disadvantages and is not as straight forward as we would like. Multibody has the potential to be an alternative and possibly better way for us to create welding assemblies. As you can see in the example attachment, for some welding assemblies we would have the requirement to show individual bodies on a drawing, because they first need to be cut separately and then welded together. If Multibody could be used, this would have a positive impact on our processes. This example is just a small assembly, but we have larger ones consisting of fifty bodies or more.

It is a useful function I know also from other CAD-sytems

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
I am a Mechanical Engineer and I am working as technical support engineer in GMMSPL for PTC Creo

2. What version of Creo Parametric are you currently running?
Creo 8.0.3.0

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.

This is regarding the Multibody.

Now we have fresh and advance technology as Multibody but we need more from it in future so my question is as follow.,

If we create the part file contain more than 1 body, but that will be best if PTC can provide the capability to place the specific body in drafting.

Currently we have to manage it using the Layer.

4. What is the use case for your organization?
Increase the productivity of the user

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
TIme saving

This could be extended with the revision of the interface to create simplified representations in part mode, removing the very old Pro/Engineer interface. Currently we could create simplified representations where we would supress all the features that belong to certain bodies, to be able to isolate the individual bodies for representations in a drawing. The problem is that it implies regenerations when using this kind of simplified representation, and with complex parts, it is a slow process (besides the oudated interface). So, I propose 3 things related to this subject:

1. Simple way to select the body or bodies from a part to include in a drawing view, in the drawing environment. (What the OP mentioned)

2. An alternative where we could create simplified representations in part mode, where we could select the bodies to hide (and not the features to supress) and also allow Style funcionality as in assembly mode, ie, allow certaing bodies to be shaded, and othres to be in wireframe. The hiding and showing of the bodies in part could be achieved with layer funcionality with the "All" option where we could have several sets of Hidden and Shown layers. But the "All" view manager funcionality manages Orientations, Appearances, Simp Reps, Sections besides the Layers, which makes it a more complex process to manage.

3. Modernize the "Simp Rep" interface in Part Mode and add the "Style" view manager option as it exists in assembly mode, to have bodies in mixed wireframe and shading modes.
