Currently, to enable logging for troubleshooting of Pro/E issues requires multiple environment settings, config.pro settings, modifying the startup file, etc.  This should be a simple switch in Pro/E: enable logging yes/no.

To make matters worse, there is a known issue with logging that makes Pro/E more prone to crashes.

PTC, develop an easier and more robust logging process to help troubleshoot Pro/E issues.

I totally agree this doesn't even have to involve changes to Creo per se. We have a custom script wirtten with a bit of AutoIT script to set/unset all the stuff related to Workgroup Manager logging and log collection. Could be easily done with a batch file by tech support you'd think.
