Don't Create Failed User Defined Round Transitions

Don't Create Failed User Defined Round Transitions

Sometimes when a round fails, Creo will report the following:

Recent changes have caused user-defined  transition references to be lost.

Changes to either the current feature's geometry or to some other feature have caused the references for user-defined transition (No. 1) to be lost.

The affected  transitions must have their references redefined.

Recommended actions:    Redefine the TRANSITIONS element for the failed feature, and select the Transitions indicated above for redefinition.  Reselect lost references.

In most cases there is no user defined transition, Creo has created one and it has failed.  There is clearly a problem, but the error is wrong and not helpful.

I propose:

  1. Creo should not create a failed user defined transition and ask the user to then fix it.
  2. Error messages for failed rounds be improved to better inform the user why it has failed.

In general, the round creation feature needs to be improved. Not just fewer incomprehensible error messages, but fewer failures of edge rounds. We want a round that actually works more often. The calculations going on behind the scenes need to be more forgiving. This is the case for many failures of features based on geometry/topography calculation. The error, or difficulty, is often over something so small in size that it's not even noticeable, or it wouldn't be if it were able to be created. So create it! Or to be more specific fudge it. Yes, Creo, you could fudge it by a fraction of a micrometer and it wouldn't meaningfully anything in the real world.
