Dynamic editing in Assemblies

Dynamic editing in Assemblies

Hello All,

I have build up a flexible tube with points and curve (spline).

These tube I add to my assembly.

The end- and start-Point of the tube is guided by flexibility so that the end- and start-point

fits to my connection-point in my assemly.

But now I want to edit the curve-points between end- and start-point.

I have to do this in the assembly, because I want see where is collison.

An dynamic editing is in assemblies not possible

It is only the tube-part possible (see white square at the measurement)

Why not ??

Please vote for this idea

Matthias

I'm assuming you tried activating your part then dynamically edited it with the component being the active thing?  I like the idea you are proposing as long as it is practical from a regeneration standpoint.

Dynamic editing does not work in assembly mode!

And this idea is pretty much a duplicate of: Enable dynamic edit in assembly mode.

It's surprising that so few votes for it... I guess pro/e crowd doesn't do much of "dynamic" editing...  Or they are thinking ahead and see that it would be difficult to implement in a large assembly...

But I think something of a "quasi-dynamic-editing" mode where you would simply "freeze" the active component in its current place and then be allowed to change its geometry dynamically would be useful.

Thank you Paul Sobejko‌ and Dale Rosema‌ for the head's up.

This idea is a duplicate.  Please utilize the link within Paul's post.

What can we win, when we comment like Toby.

It doesn't matter, who has the idea.

It is important to get this function.

Vote both post.

The idea behind unifying duplicates is mostly to avoid diluting support:  If you have two ideas on the same topic, and 100 people interested, maybe 30 of them will only notice one, and 30 notice the other, and 40 notice both and vote them up.  End result, it looks to PTC like there is only 70 people supporting when in fact there are 100, and we erroneously judge it to be not as important as it really is.

Secondarily, even if everyone notices both and votes them, that's just making more work for the users to express their views, and more clutter in the list, making it a little harder to find things.

So that's why when we see duplicates, we flag them as such and unify on one.

Goodridge enhancement. Also the ability To align the hose with walls, hoes,  cuts etc. Without making external references
