Edge preparation length for welding

I want to get back this thread because it has been archived by PTC because of too few votes in a long time.
But I think it should be useful: insert the possibiliti to define the lenght for the edge preparation.
In addiction I also propose to implement a better interface for edge-preparation (see image below) and a command that permits to recognize ordinary chamfer features as preparations.
