Within a sketcher we can't edit a spline point that has any dimensions or constraints when the spline menu is active. We want to see the analysis of the spline and then edit the dimensions as required. We need to first close the analysis, edit or delete the dimensions and then go back in and check the analysis. Or we need to delete the dimensions and constraints and THEN we can manipulate the spline points in the spline tool.
