Emissive Materials in Photolux

Emissive Materials in Photolux

Having emissive materials in Photolux like Keyshot would be very helpful for simulating lit objects. Currently, this is approximated by placing a light inside a transparent part, but the results are terrible. The light location is hard to place and the size is fixed. If I want to simulate a lit LED headlight or turn signal it doesn't work. Even a simple flashlight looks bad.

I realize Creo isn't a photometric simulator, but much of the physics is already in there. Just create a user interface to let us use it. Keyshot does an excellent job of simulating in-scene lighting. If you could add a few of those features, I'd be happy.

FYI in Creo 4.0 PTC replaced their PHOTORENDER ADVANCED module with Keyshot. Creo 3.0 is last version containing Photolux render functionality.

I am glad to see Keyshot in Creo 4! We just upgraded to 3 last month, so it may be a while before we go to 4. Luckily, we have Keyshot licenses and was able to install it on my machine. I hope the Keyshot in 4 is a full version, not dumbed down to just the basic features.

Do not be such optimistic .

  1. I do not believe, that Keyshot in 4 will be full version
  2. Creo license must contain ARX to enable access to Keyshot in 4
