Because of lack of functionality and/or control with Creo Simulate 3.0 software, we would like to submit a request to have a configuration setting created that would allow the user to set the number of decimal places to display for analysis results (i.e. von Mises stresses) and also the ability to set the displayed results in Scientific Notation or in Decimal format. There is an existing community support case, CS124580, that also addresses this issue and apparently the answer is that the software can't do it. There are several blogs and discussion forums out there where people are discussing the same lack of control of their analysis environment with Creo Simulate, so we are making an office request for this enhancement. We would like to know if it's possible to change the number of decimals to display for stress analysis results either through a config.pro setting or within the analysis results dialog box. For example, our engineers are not interested in knowing stress results that are smaller than 1 or 2 decimal places. If the output of a stress von Mises analysis results in two or three stresses being for example 20 or 30 ksi, they don't care if one of the stresses is 0.004 ksi. This very small stress value "outlier" seems to force the analysis results being displayed in scientific notation to accommodate the wide range of values. We were thinking that if we could limit the decimal places to display or force the displayed results to Decimal only vs Scientific Notation only, the values in the results might remain in decimal format and therefore be of true value to the user.
