1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
Design of industrial equipment

Mechanical design and manufacturing

System administration of Creo and Windchill

All users of Creo

2. What version of Creo Parametric are you currently running?
7.0.7.0 and 7.0.9.0

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.
When creating a cross-section, Creo places cross hatching on all parts in the cross-section. Per ASME Y14.3, it says: When the cutting plane lies along the longitudinal axis of items, such as shafts, bolts, nuts, rods, rivets, keys, pins, screws, ball or roller bearings, gear teeth, spokes, and the like, these parts are not sectioned except when internal construction is shown.

I would like to request a parameter that can be added to part files of those types of components that will trigger Creo to not cross hatch that item.

We had this in another high-end CAD system 20+ years ago!

4. What is the use case for your organization?
Avoid the manual effort to disable cross hatching on standard hardware items in cross-sections.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
Bring all drawings in line with industry standards without a lot of extra work.
