We need an exploded view "history tree" so that exploded states can be parametrically modified and adjusted. The tree will show each of the components that were moved, the direction, and every one of them can be modified, deleted, or suppressed. Very similar to what we already have for assembling components.
Maybe even take it a step further than the CAD programs that already have this functionality and incorporate exploded view skeletons for a top-down approach to exploded views. Here you would define each datum of an explosion (datum plane or similar) and then define what components belong to which datum. The explosion can then be modified easily by adjusting just the skeleton datums. But maybe that's asking too much...
