When creating a BOM report in standard mode (Tools > Bills of Materials), the report can only be saved to an HTML file. I would like the options to export a BOM generated in Assembly mode to tab-delimited and comma separated text files.
Although the BOM can be exported locally (currently using xxxxx.bom type format that can be opened as a text file), it would be nice to have some added flexibility such as:
1. Export format chices (txt, csv, xls...)
2. Added flexibility for export content by beeing able to choose:
a. BOM level
b. BOM component attributes such as version, PTC_COMMON_NAME, etc...
When you click Tools > Bills of Materials, Creo Parametric 2.0 creates file named assemblyname.bom.n in some directory (maybe in parent directory of the assembly -OR- in current working directory). This file contains simple text. User can configure its contents using format file defined by config.pro option bom_format.
