Extend the Manage Parts function in Annotation to work with Parts

Extend the Manage Parts function in Annotation to work with Parts

Currently, Manage Parts only allows you to choose what parts are visible in an assembly. This would also be very useful to apply to parts in the situation where you’ve got a part that you want modeled in the as-used state, but need to document the as-manufactured state. For example a piece of tape that is die cut, but drapes over the top of another part. The model that is in the main assy would be the tape in the shape of the parts underneath, under that model would be a container, in the container would be the as-manufactured model that is used in the drawing.

Sample structure:

MainAssy

  - TapeInPlace

    - MfgContainer

      - TapeAsManufactured

    - ViewSet

Instead of a conainer use the Stock Finish relationship.

If you use containers, You still can add views to the part that is in the container.  Multiple view sets can be used on a drawing. We do this all of the time.  For example a spring would be detailed in the free state, but modeled in the compressed state.
