Now, Merge/Inheritance feature for Part mode can only be replace by family instance only.
It will be good if it can be Replace by any other standalone model. (similar to part Replace by Unrelated Component in Assembly mode).
Else I will need to re-create an overall similiar part if only the Merge/Inheritance feature varies.
