Although having set "FILE_OPEN PREVIEW DEFAULT COLLAPSED", the program after a while automatically re-proposes the preview window in the file open window.

Looking at the behavior of the program, it seems that it is interfering with the appearance of the model preview pop-up in the model tree.

Try this test procedure:
1- I close the preview in the open window for the umpteenth time.
2- Until I see a model preview popup in the model tree, the preview in the open window does not appear again, if I display a preview popup in the tree, the preview reappears in the open window ...

That's it, I have encountered this behavior in both Creo 2.0 M250 and Creo 8.0.0.0.

Viewing a popup thumbnail, in the model tree or the File Open dialog box, should not turn on the preview in the File Open dialog box.

My understanding of this was that when I do File->Open the dialog box defaults to whatever I did last time I opened a file. It is a modal setting that "sticks" to the last choice I made. If I turn on the Preview, it will be ON for the next file I open, etc. until I close it. Once I close it I don't get the preview on the next file I open, etc.

Didn't even know of the config option, but looking at my list of config options, I see that the correct syntax to set it is

 

FILE_OPEN_PREVIEW_DEFAULT    COLLAPSED

 

Hopefully you have all those underscores in there...

The problem is that with the setting FILE_OPEN_PREVIEW_DEFAULT    COLLAPSED, viewing a thumbnail in the tree or the open dialog box will set the open dialog box preview to expanded, showing the preview until you collapse it again or restart Creo.
