Find What Layers an item is on

Find What Layers an item is on

When you right click on ANY item you should be able to go to info/feature and the output should list all the layers that the item exists uponCurrently there is no easy way to find what layers control an item without going to the layer tree and doing trial and error experiments, very crude!

nevermind, apparently this function already exists.  How do i delete this?

PTC introduced the 'Shown Items' layer in Creo 4 to save you time searching for hidden items; When item is hidden by any layer, it is shown hidden in Model Tree. Just select it in model tree and RMB 'show' and it wil be shown in Graphic Window, no matter what layer(s) it is in. Great functionality in my opinion ...

BUT; It does not work the way exactly... ONLY the items in MANUAL layers are hidden in the model tree when the layer is hidden, items hidden by RULE based Layers are not grayed out in model tree when the layer is hidden. For those items you need to go to the Layer Tree, find a layer containing the item and RMB 'show' to get the item shown. Still less work then finding all layers containing the item, but unnecessary in my opinion...
Furthermore, an item that is 1. hidden by layer and 2. then manually shown, 3. manually hidden again; will not disappear from the 'shown' layer, but be added to the 'hidden' layer... Increasing difficulty to manage visibility instead of decreasing it.

Please vote on my idea to improve this ...
