Generating PDF of A4 size portrait orientation

Generating PDF of A4 size portrait orientation

Applies to: Creo/Elements Direct Modeling Annotation

Problem: Saving drawing on A4 sheet in portrait orientation to a model manager with "create pdf" option enabled results in pdf drawing being saved in landscape orientation only with wrong scale. Changing PDF_Generic printer properties (swapping sides, changing orientation, etc.) won't work in any combination of properties (tested on Creo Elements/Direct 18.1 M050).

Resolution: Finding a way to edit AM_PLOT_MACRO so it knows which orinetation to use when saving A4 portrait.

Is this the Model Manager for CoCreate or Creo Elements Direct?

Creo Parametric is not having issues with the PDF generated in A4 size.

You might consider creating a support case and having this looked at as a bug rather than an idea.

It is Creo Elements Direct. This issue has been known for a while, but yet no fix is available. Support actually advised me to log this in as an idea.

If it is not working as expected, I would escalate the case.

A bug like this should be submitted as an SPR if one is not already submitted.

An Idea has little chance ot actually get implemented.

We can post a single Idea and probably get a 1000 votes...

See where that gets ya

well, this is the least problem we have with Creo/Elements... and that particular issue was addressed in the past, I decided to bring it back to life because I was wondering if PTC came up with any kind of fix for it since it was discussed last time (like 2 years ago). If this wont work as an idea (which probably is very possible) then it is ok since we've started looking for another CAD system...

I have a client that uses CoCreate 18.1 with Model Manager.

I will have to see if they are having issues with A4 portrait formats.

These are all to common for use in spec-sheets and would be a real problem for their European counterparts.

thank you! yes, it is annoying because you have to manually print it out using another PDF printer and then import it into a Model Manager which is not fun. Especially, when your drawing gets revised and you need to do it all over again.

Something else that needs to be fixed is that when saving a B szie (11x17) drawing, it should create the PDF as B size too instead of A4.

How are you creating your PDF's?  I use the export to PDF and it defaults to 1:1.

I can create my own PDF's just fine manually.

The problem is whatever Creo Elements Direct uses to create PDF's in Model Manager when saving the drawing. It generates in as A4 instead of B size.
