Get Leap Motion Controller to work with Creo

Get Leap Motion Controller to work with Creo

I shure like the 3Dconnexion 3D mouse that most of us are using.

But there is a thing that lets you even more directly interact with your 3D model:

https://leapmotion.com/

Imagine to edit a feature or sketch directly with your fingers. Image to pull and push the geometry just as in freestyle - but even more directly....

Like that, users can input their ideas to the software just more directly.

This would also be ideal for presenting in meetings and navigation in digital mockups I would say! Even less CAD agnostic people like the boss can then turn a 3D model without making it look awkward.

That is impressive! PTC, please impress us, too

I would prefer to have a 40" table/screen using Microsoft Surface and adapt Creo to do this:

This would be even better than a touch screen because then there isn't any trauma to your fingertips everythime you want to drag something.  It all depends on the method for indicating a drag with this device.

I simply cannot imagine holding my arms up for anyting close to 9 hours a day.

It would be great for reviews, presentations, etc. though...

I agree with John and Rob. This would help a lot for presentations and reviews of the models although the work for the designer with this interaction would be very difficult and hard.

In my opinion, this new kind of interaction should be implemented in Creo, so the user can choose what to use, depending of his task.

I wish to have special glasses for Creo navigation or something more to move my body much more during working hours - maybe MATRIX?

Has PTC made any advancements towards this idea?

Sven,

You were ahead of the times! I love this idea, and especially with the new functionality in the HoloLens 2 from Microsoft, it's a bit more feasible.
