Hole centermark size on drawing (axis offset)

Hole centermark size on drawing (axis offset)

The suggestion is that have Creo check the size of the hole or feature and extend the centermark/axis offset as a percentage of that measured/defined size.

Currently the lines are extended as much for small holes as for large holes.

Only on a certain cases is there an exact match that pleases engineer, which now results in most of them manually resizing the centermarks or changing the drawing properties (which is again one-size-fits-all)

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
All industries using 2D drawings and documenting models that have holes.

I'm an external consultant visiting multiple firms designing with creo, this question comes up everytime.

2. What version of Creo Parametric are you currently running?
Creo parametric up to version 9.0.1.0 as of posting this idea.

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.
see screenshot above.

Worst case is a drawing with a lot of small holes and some big that get the same offset rule applied.

4. What is the use case for your organization?
as mentioned , documenting models with holes.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
This will reduce engineering time on detailing, saving hours if not days when cumulated over multiple engineers.

Hi Community

This issue came up with our customers too. Is there a solution planned yet?

Best wishes

PTC is not very proactive on product ideas and worse on ones the pertain to the drawing mode since their focus is mainly on model based definition.

In other words, don't hold your breath!

yes, you are probably right, maybe they will see that a lot of customer are still holding on to 2D drawings, and the drawing interface has an huge amount of things that could be improved.
