If i want to select one surface It must not be as carrying the cross. It is better to have in filter all types of geometry to create better interaction. Also add window some kind of other similar selector.
I think selections modes used in Pro/Desktop was nice - there ware opportunities to select lines (sketch elements), constrains (also dimensions), edges, faces, workplanes or parts.
I suggest to add more option for available selection modes in Creo and there will be an opportunity to obtain better RMB content of context menu, as it was also great done in Pro/Desktop.
