With configurations, you can have the position of parts in an assembly be different. Position is an 'instance' attribute for the parts in the assembly. It would be nice if other instance information could be altered when a configuration is activated. This would include the part's 'instance' color and transparency. So when a configuration is activated, the parts could move, change color, and become semi-transparent to make it easier to design.
