Include units in summary file in Creo Simulate

Include units in summary file in Creo Simulate

Hi,

I find it really difficult and time consuming sometime to find out in what units a measure is given in the creo simulate summary file. Is stress in Pa, kPa, MPa? Is strain energy in J, mJ, kJ and so on. I know this is correlated to the units of the part or assembly but for at least energy it isn't always intuitive how to calculate it. I guess in mmkgs that the energy unit is kg*mm/s^2*mm or micro Joule but I for a while thougth it was Nmm or mJ. Either way it should be really easy to program so that the unit is displayed after the value. I attach a picture to show were I would have wanted it.

Best Regards

Jimmie

I would argue that Creo should put units EVERWHERE and should be obvious to users. Length, mass, etc. should ALWAYS have a their unit of measure shown. Users shouldn't have to go digging in the hidden Model Properties to figure out what units a model is using. Most other CAD software seems to have this figured out including Creo View!!

Agree with you. we easily know the unit of the length, mass, and time, CAD does not need to mention them everywhere, but we are wondering about the unit of the strain energy in creo simulate summary file too. I not sure if the unit should be: W=FS=kg·mm=10N·1E-3m=0.01J. If you already have precise answer on this question, kindly please share to me?
