At the moment Creo works with inheritance feature in the following way. - Creation of an original model - In a second model this is built in by means of inheritance feature - If changes are made to the first part at a later point in time, the inheritance CE must be selected in the second part and the base model must be called up explicitly with the RMB and the inheritance updated.
This costs an enormous amount of time and also causes errors, because the updates from the base model are not done automatically. Especially if several finished parts are derived from the base model (blank). In conjunction with a database, e.g. PDMLink, each released model must then be incremented, checked out, regenerated, checked in and released.
My proposal: Introduction of a new config.pro option. UPDATE_INHERITANCE_FEATURE STANDARD --> same working method as before ON REQUEST --> User is asked once per session when a part-/assembly is called, whether the Verification features should be updated AUTOMATIC --> Creo automatically calls up all base models (blanks) when a part or assembly is opened and updates the finished parts to the latest state, without them being displayed as changed for the database.
