Issue with hiding sketches in drawing – related annotation tolerances disappears as well

Issue with hiding sketches in drawing – related annotation tolerances disappears as well

The attached document describes the case, which basically means that part annotations were using dimensions from a separate sketch (created as a separate feature in the model tree), and that makes it impossible to hide that sketch on the drawing without the also the geometric tolerances made as annotation also gets to be hidden (The annotation geometric tolerance uses a size dimension from the sketch).

Creo 2 M130 is used.

At the part the sketch feature can easily be hidden and the geometric annotation tolerance still shown, it is only at the drawing the issue appears (Hide/Unhide and all kinds of layers have been tested.)

There is another PTC support case about a similar thing from May 2015, also in Creo 2. The two suggested workarounds are really NO GOD for me, and really no options for what I try to achieve.

See attached document. (Unfortunately no part and drawing can be shared)

Have you tried creating a layer that includes only the curve entities from the sketch not the sketch feature itself?  The way layers work, and I believe the hide function as well, is that once the feature has been hidden, none of the entities in the feature can be made visible.  That has been my experience, but it sounds like you have been able to have the annotations how in part mode.

It may be that by layering off only the curve entities that you can allow the annotations to be shown.

Hi Doug!

Thanks for your comment! Sorry for my late reply.

I tried to create a layer and put the curves on there (one by one, and not the sketch), and then hide it. But when doing that it also hides the annotation tolerances connected to it. Seems like there is a lack of functionality here from PTC...

Unfortunately, I'm not surprised. PTC has some issues with consistency in the layer and hide/unhide functionality.
