License-Server option to forbid checkout of given license

License-Server option to forbid checkout of given license

Example: there is only one license for XVL-generation.

If this license is checked-out by a user mistakenly the rest of the company cannot use the XVL feature.

The idea is to mark such licenses as 'not for check-out'.

Until now there are only marks like 'only for user X' or 'only for machine Y' available.

I haven't used it in a while, but there used to be the capability to restrict a license to be used by only a specific computer (IP address) or group of computers (range of IP addresses). I would be surprised if this capability didn't still exist. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to our license file and don't remember the syntax.

All ACL features still exist, however ACL (=access control list) only controls if a host or user

can pull a particular license (e.g. the single XVL license).

Since only 1 license exist, the intended usage is:

Every user can pull this license (for a short time).

When "portable licenses" are enabled, a user can pull a license and keep it on his portable

computer (e.g. the Laptop) for a maximum of 30 days.

Unfortunately, there is NO syntax available to define special access control for portable licenses.

My proposal: Submit Enhancement Request (Product Idea)
