MDB in augmented reality AR

MDB in augmented reality AR

In Creo Parametric, when creating the AR model, it would be useful to already see the 3D annotations (MDB)

Hi Terzi,

Thanks for submitting this idea. I think it's a great idea. It's something that we've looked into and would like to do, but there are non-trivial difficulties with adding annotations to AR models. I'd still like to make it happen, but that's part of why it hasn't happened yet.

Could you give me more details on the use cases and/or problems you'd like to address by having MBD in AR? This will be extremely helpful for me.

Hi,

I am very pleased that you are interested in the good idea.

I would need to view the 3D annotations created with MDB in the Creo
Parametric model in the model published in AR.

Thanks

Hi Andrea (please pardon my getting your name wrong in the previous message),

Thanks for your response. Can you tell me what value you would find in seeing MBD in AR? What would you be able to accomplish that you otherwise couldn't?

@lwestbrook,

Take a look at this video.

This image from 28 seconds in sure looks like MBD annotations in AR:

Hi @TomU ,

You're right. While I'm quite certain the image being used in the video is more "movie magic"/Photoshop than anything actually taken from a real AR experience, it's still nevertheless possible to do MBD. It's just non-trivial to figure out the best, most robust way to do it. Any insight into the business value for that functionality would help significantly to build the case for putting annotations into the product.

Hi,

Our goal is to be able to give an online operator the visualization of
technical information for the assembly of a product. For this reason it
would be useful to be able to view the 3D Annotations (Dimension and Note)

Thanks
