Make pull downs for inside radius values based on a table of gauges of metals

Instead of having just the thickness*2 values or thickness as an option for the pull down, how about adding an area or a table where we can input our tables values based on a gauge of metal. This way, when you click on the inside radius pull down you will see your gauges and the inside radius will automatically be input based on the values in your table. For instance: 18 gauge would equal a .030inch radius. All you would see in the pulldown is the title you input (18G) for example.

You might want to vote on your own idea.

Probably a good idea

Yeah, I kind of wondered that as soon as I saw the first comment. I kind of figured it was given since I posted it.

Bad idea... your unit system is based on "cows per fortnight"?

See wikipedia:

ASTM A480-10a "The use of gage number is discouraged as being an archaic term of limited usefulness not having general agreement on meaning."

Manufacturers' Standard Gauge for Sheet Steel is based on an average weight of 41.82 lb (18.96 kg) per square foot per inch thick. Gauge is defined differently for ferrous (iron-based) and non-ferrous metals (e.g., aluminium and brass).

As a sheet metal manufacturer I can assure you that gauge is not based on weight. The inside radius of a bent piece of metal is determined by the bend table which is driven by a formula. Weight per sq ft has no bearing on the inside radius.
