Measure for distance between two points in Mechanica in deformed state.

Measure for distance between two points in Mechanica in deformed state.

In Creo Simulate there are a great deal of measures, however one that is missing is the ability to measure directly between two different points on the model and report the distance in the deformed state. At the moment this can be done by creating 7 different measures for each distance to be checked. At the moment a separate displacement measure is required for the X, Y, and Z directions (relative to a CSYS) for the first point, then the same 3 measures for the second point. The final measure is a computed measure which takes the results of the 6 measures and combines them to yield the overall distance. This is prone to errors and very cumbersome, particularly if there are a large number of points to be checked in the model.

As part of the same review, perhaps a new form of Displacement measure could be introduced which automatically generates magnitude, x, y and z components from a single feature.

A way around this may be to exporting the deformed shape from Creo Simulate as a VRML file and then importing into an assembly? This is not as convenient as just adding a measure.
