Merge Curves

Merge Curves

Hi,

the option to merge 3d curve is missing.

today there is a workaround for that (creating a surface using those curves and then selecting surface edge ), however, it is tedious and require well trained user.

adding this capability will simplify user interaction, work speed and improve user satisfaction.

3D curves that are tangent can be merged into one entity using copy/paste approximate.

when selecting 3d curve and applying "Copy" you get only "Paste special".

Please advice what you're referring to.

got you !

you have to select the first curve, copy, paste, switch to approximate, reference, details, rule base and add the second curve...

Many thanks

You can also, after switching to approximate, hold Shift to select additional curves one-by-one, skipping the details clicks.

By the way, found that there is a workaround to create merge curve also as Exact.

it's long one. here you go:

1. create a merge curve ( 2 d based ). use the Exact option.

2. make sure that the number of entities is equal to number of 3d items you would like to merge.

3.   select the copy feature ->edit references-> replace the entities with the required 3d items.

you have now merged 3d curve

Special thanks to Yoram Shechner for the workaround.
