Model Tree Quantity Count

Model Tree Quantity Count

Where I work we do alot of comparison of the CAD model tree to an existing IBOM. We have to verify that the contents of the assembly match what has been input onto the IBOM. When we get into standard parts/fasteners some of these quantities can be large amounts 200+ or more usually. What we do for these large amounts is expand the model tree, (ungroup, remove pattern) if necessary, save it as a txt file, copy and paste into excel and then do a search on the part number, which takes time. I think that there could be a better way to do this. From the model tree when you right click on the part and get the pull down can there be something that would gather like amounts and calculate them and then hide and unhide them. For instance if I have part #12345.prt and I have 205 of them, if I was in the model tree, I could click on the first one I see #12345, right click it, get drop down to say calculate, then a sub drop down for total and for hide/unhide
