Several checks in ModelChecks can use external list files (HOLE_DIAMS, etc.). However, ModelCheck lacks a lot of functionality when using external lists:
Please make external lists operate like internal lists where allowed values are shown to users and users can pick from the allowed values.
I kind of agree, but not totally.
The standard hole sizes should be a list provided to your users during their 'orientation' to your company or during ModelCheck training. Pointing them to the lists may also be sufficient.
Displaying the list from ModelCheck should only be a display, if it is added. The user could then see what diameters are allowed and go back and modify the model. In no case should ModelCheck be allowed to update the model to a hole diameter from the check list in holes.txt.
