The description from VDA 4955:
3.1.4.1 Large edge gap (G0 discontinuity): G-LO-LG [positional discontinuity]
Problem description: A large distance or an overlap of neighboring boundary curves form a positional discontinuity.
Measured variable: Distance in the area of the end points of two contact curves at the common corner point.
Additional information: If the positioning curves are not continuous, the gaps or the overlapping boundary curves lead to problems when defining the limited area, which leads to their loss during data exchange, i.e. can lead to the transfer of only the unlimited area.
Recommendation: Redefine the ends of the boundary curves within the accuracy for identical points. Redefining the existing curves is preferable to inserting a small curve section, since there is a risk of an unwanted loop.
