Modelcheck for Automatic Update state

Modelcheck for Automatic Update state

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
A product design company that uses the different design stages s.a. concept/prototype/production/...

2. What version of Creo Parametric are you currently running?
7/8

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.
When moving to production state , often the automatic update state get's forgotten. If parts are then not released or locked, they will be updated. In order to help detect these kind of parts, it would be helpful to let ModelCheck indicate the parts that still have copy geometry features on that state.

Even better would be a tool that enables an engineer to set the status of multiple parts/features at once.

4. What is the use case for your organization?
Do a check on an entire assembly to see which parts would still automatically update.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
It would save time on failed or unexpectedly changed parts in assemblies that shouldn't  have changed since they moved from concept or prototype  to a production phase.

Can you require that the features are set to Read Only before release? Then, they won't be updated when the CAD is opened. Of course, then, you would still need a check to ensure the features are set to Read Only (https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/Modelcheck-Check-Features-set-to-Read-Only/idi-p/...)
