Move version numbers to before the files extension

Version files are great but the version numbers recognised as the file extension does cause plenty of software conflicts.

How about putting the version number before the file extension.

Also a config option to turn off version creation could be useful in non critical projects.

In Creo Parametric 3.0 it is possible to turn of version number by the following config.pro option

save_file_iterations no
