It should be very flexible. I can choose from 3 till ifinity amount. The implemented algorythm must recognize if all point and curves are on the same plane or not. If all geomentry lies on the same plane created surface will be planar. Also as inside option must be tangency.

I have tried this feature several times and I don't remember if even once I left it as final surface, but generally use few boundary blends or other solution to obtain nice looking result.

I think this feature should be rather part of Boundary Blend with the same functionality to set boundary condition with ease.

I've been playing with the N-sided surface a lot recently, and, I'm amazed it took me this long to get into it as much as I have.  It's flat amazing, doing things the Boundary Blend simply cannot do.  It's also EXTREMELY robust, regenerating with massive changes where any number of B/B's would have failed.

 

PTC made a HUGE mistake not promoting this tool, and not updating it.  In fact, they have done their best to hide (it's not in any menu) and obsolete it (have to set a config.pro option to even use it), which is totally loco.

 

The only downside is that you can't set curvature continuous (with all those tools) like you can with B/B's, only tangency, but I tell you, if you set it up right with smooth curves, you can get basically curvature continuous out of it.  It's an amazing tool, just had never needed it before.

 

They need to revive it, and give it the interface (like the B/B's) it deserves.  PTC, are you listening?

It should be enhanced, a very usefull feature, that all mid range CAD package has, and creo lacks!!!
