New and easy managing of borrowed license!!!

New and easy managing of borrowed license!!!

User must use environment variable and dos command to borrow a license for max 14 days or for return early a license or for return a license that it is not check out correctly.

All is difficult!!! I think that a user interface could be usefull and also the possibility to borrow a license for longer period.

SolidWorks installs a really easy to use program for users. You click the license you want, and select borrow. You can immediately see that the license is borrowed. You can select borrowed licenses and return them and immediately see that it is returned.

Yes, please!  A better license interface is badly needed, and probably easy to develop.  The interface must be simple and within the application, where you click Borrow, and then check what licenses you need to add to a borrowed set.  It also needs to include an early return button, instead of the current solution, which is a command line entry.

BTW, currently you can borrow up to 179 days, if you set the maximum in the psf file, and have a subscription license (https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS34737)

Please fix this!  Current instructions to borrow a Simulate license include running analysis, and unplugging your network connection while it is running:  (CS128697)

  1. Open installation directory for Creo Parametric 2.0 (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\PTC\Creo 2.0\Parametric\bin)
  2. Execute “parametric_borrow.bat” and select number days to borrow license
  3. Open or create a part and click on applications>simulate
  4. During analysis run unplug your system out of the network
  5. Close the session and launch it again
  6. Run ptcstatus to verify the license is being borrowed
