It would be a nice feature to be able to open a drawing with right click functionality. It could be a very simple addition, adding the part or assembly number to the open window UI and adding a .drw behind it.
When you say plug in...do you mean like AAX or surfacing (extension) or it this a separate company that makes a plug in for Pro-e that adds the open drawing function?
EMX must only have one drawing per mold. How would you handle the situation where you have multiple drawing files referring to the same model? If you are in a PDM environment, then you can open the related Drawings from the PDM.
We are in 2020 as you know Why do I have to create mapkey its time for PTC to develop BASIC and most used commands Solidworks have this option since 1997 Any questions?
As per @StephenW's note, I merged an older ideas that was not archived into this newer one - also not archived, keeping the status of "Under Consideration" initially given by @Mfridman and merging the votes. The comments are clearly from 2 different times, but at least, the 2 ideas are consolidated.
@S_Edgenear I am not sure why the votes were frozen here. Apologies for the inconvenience. I am reopening them.
If PTC adds the possibility to have a one to one or a one to many association between parts and drawings, or assemblies and drawings, one could extend the possibility to rename the parts or assemblies, updating the references to the new part names or assemblies in drawings. Not all people use PDM, and it is a very slow and error prone when trying to rename a part or an assembly for which drawings have allready been mande. A quick button to quickle open the associated drawings to a part or an assembly would solve one problem, but if we need to open the drawings only to be able to rename the parts or the assemblies, this process could be automated too, so that the drawings do not loose references to the renamed parts or renamed assemblies.
