We do a fair amount of curved steel members that are outsourced to a small fabrication shop. On these tubes, they weld steel plates to the inside face of the curved steel tube, and place them using the midpoint along an arc. Presently, the only thing we can do is to either place ordinate dimensions in an XY plane to locate these (not easy to measure) or attempt to add multiple arc dimensions or chord lengths to approximate the location. This obviously gets messy as you can see from the attached images.
We would like to know if there is a way to add an Ordinate Arc Dimension where you would pick a baseline of an overall arc length, then pick points along that arc that you would like to have listed out in an ordinate orientation, much like you would do with standard ordinate dimensions. We would like to see this functionality on both 2D Annotations (Drawings) and 3D Annotations (in models).
