Partial Views - Defined by a Rectangle

Partial Views - Defined by a Rectangle

Hi,

It sometimes becomes frustrating to draw a spline each time a Partial View is created in a drawing.

It would be fantastic to have an option to draw a rectangle to border the Partial View!

Most of our views are Partial Views, as we work with Top-Down Design methodology and so Drawing Views always have Very-Far Off-Limits Copy Geometries that expand the actual size of the View.

So, Besides the Spline, Please add an option to draw a Rectangle as a boundary for The Partial View.

One more thing:

The preferred technique for drawing the Rectangle as a Boundary for the Partial Views is to click 2 opposite corners, instead of sketching manually 4 peripheral edges (Like in Microsoft Snipping Tool in Windows).

Also add a circle as the boundary, even simpler than a rectangle. Center point and drag to your diameter needed for the view.

Or an ellipse, with the center being snapped to some model geometry.

I agree. This idea https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/Allow-use-of-a-center-radius-circle-instead-of-a-spline-when/idi-p/452265 already has 123 votes for a circle type boundary. Any improvement, circle, square, ellipse, rhombus, tetrahedron, flux capacitor, etc would be a HUGE improvement over sketching a spline. Granted, a spline is infinitely configurable, but  sometimes, I don't need infinity AND the number of clicks involved in an infinite solution (which is always infinity plus 1 and I always mess up on that last click), I just want to click 2 or 3 or 4 times and be done.

FYI, I love trying to draw a circle using a spline (LOL, I hope you detect the sarcasm!!!). A square/rectangle, even better, tryin to get those "sharp" corners, man, I can work on it for hours and my boss looks at the drawing and says...well, my boss knows how to use creo...and the words that come out of his mouth when he sees a spline rectangle...PRICELESS!!!

A flux capacitor, I think that wouldn't work. But with the other geometric definitions it would be a big improvement.

@StephenW , thank you.

BTW, your post is humorously  priceless!

flux capacitor 🤣
