Loads as functions of coordinates are not permitted if one wants to carry out a Large Deflection Analysis.
The simplest example of this would be creating a 'hydrostatic' load in the inside of a thin walled fluid filled container.
It is not possible to create a hydrostatic load without using function of coordinates and therefore immediately not possible to use LDA
