Planes in coordinate system

Planes in coordinate system

In my opinion, the coordinate system, should have the planes inside it. CATIA and NX has the same approach and it's really useffull.

Or at least, every time we inserted a coordinate system, could have the 3 planes, grouped inside coordinate system (planeXY, PlaneXZ, PlaneYZ).

Or you should implement a new feature: a new cys feature with already three planes.
I would not do always the planes in each new cys.

This idea has a lot of potential.  Currently, if you select a coordinate system as the reference to create a Datum Plane, you can not only select which plane of the coordinate system you want to reference, you can add an offset value to the new Datum Plane.  It would be a powerful feature within the definition of a coordinate system to have a checkbox and offset value for creation of each of the three potential Datum Planes.  This would allow creating only the needed datum planes and not create unnecessary clutter.

How about UDF for this need? And yes, you can push it to UI via mapkeys.

And why having workarounds, when its should be availlable by default? Every time we are having workarounds, we are losing time.

And why having a separate button for marginal use case? Every time we are having multiple buttons or complex dialogs, we are losing time.

That's why I'm requesting having this by default. Is the same coordinate system, but with the planes built in.

I completely agree with this.

It's specially useful when we need to use the revolve comand, but this should be available as soon as possible. It does not seem to difficult to implement, unlike other kinds of requests. What's annoying with a UDF or using Copy paste of a CSys followed by the three datum planes, and we want to give a name for each plane, X, Y, Z, it does not work, and all the planes have to be automatically named. It's a lot faster to define a CSys and start immediatly sketching there, than having to first prepare at least 2 or even 3 datum planes when the csys is rotated in 3 dimensions. Also, the Sketch command when extruding should allow the user to define the origin, as Catia and NX allow. Catia copied positional sketches from Creo, probably, so, it's time to also bring to Creo other useful options that other CAD packages have and that are usefull and missing in Creo.
