At some point, I thought it improved when PTC improved usage of the video card processor. I tested on my current "large assembly", about 11,600 components assembled and it seems very reasonable on my system. I know that "large assembly" can have many definitions and my "large assembly" may be small in other users eyes.
I must say, you have a very reasonable machine, and of corse it helps!
I had a similar size assembly, with more or less same components, and after select the items to be measured, I need to wait about 5 seconds, till measurement be completed.
If you use this best pratice, it improves something, the wait is around 3seconds.
While usingMeasure, change the Filter option to its measurement feature types and gain huge improvement in performance.
IMHO, something must be done in performance. it takes to long to make a measure!
Still waiting on this to be fixed (using creo 8 now!). Starting the measure tool causes large drops in performance, and panning/rotating is painfully slow. A workaround is not a good enough effort from PTC. CS307695 identified this and offered only the workaround of changing the selection filter before attempting to use the measure tool. Marked as 'no plans to fix'. How can these bugs go unfixed for years. Even allowing us to set a default selection filter when entering the measure tool would be a better workaround, so we don't have to waste time selecting it. Be better PTC.
